What are Secondary Conditions?
Secondary Conditions are what you experience as a result of a Primary, underlying, cause. Secondary Conditions are symptoms that the master control system of the body (your central nervous system) is giving you in order to alert you that something is seriously wrong. When you have a primary condition such as a Structural Shift in your body you may feel any number of these Secondary Conditions:

NeuroSpinal Correction and Children
Structural Shifts often begin
in childhood. Minor traumas that children seem to recover from quickly can
leave small shifts that, if left uncorrected, can develop into major shifts
that are much more difficult to correct during adulthood.
Children who are still
growing respond incredibly well to neuro-spinal correction. Achieving a normal
spine is much easier for children because their body has not had to compensate
for structural abnormalities for many years like some adults.

What Is A Structural Shift?
A Structural Shift may present during our NeuroSpinal Examination in many forms. It may be seen as a large shift (i.e. a head that sits forward from its normal position) or perhaps a single vertebra of the spine may be shifted and is tender upon palpation. Other areas, such as an ankle, could have old scar tissue in it from when you rolled your ankle while playing soccer as a youth, or perhaps your child has developed a tight muscle in their hip area due to a fall on their butt. These abnormally healed tissues may be causing chronic Structural Shifts, which are going to cause Secondary conditions elsewhere in the body due to imbalances and compensations.
